On December 14, 2021 I played at a Piano Recital. Becca had invited some of her former students to come and play. I thought it sounded like fun. I learned Santa Clause is Comin' to Town arranged by Tom Roed. That was a challenge. I don't have a piano at my apartment. I started learning it the week of Thanksgiving at Mom's. Then I took the music with me and practiced in Green River. When I came back to Ogden, I practiced at the Shaw's.
The recital was held in Brigham City at the Fine Arts Building. It is a nice little building. We played on a Grand Piano in the center of the room. People sat in chairs on risers around the piano, but not behind.
The recital went okay. I got really nervous and my hands shook. I had practiced the page turn and had it down. But of course at the recital, it went not so great. Mom said the audience still got into the song. At the end of the recital, before we put the piano away, I played it again. That time was much better.
I wish I hadn't gotten so nervous, but I did have fun learning a song. It's been a long time since I have had that opportunity. Thanks Becca for the invite!
