Mandy and I celebrated our birthdays on December 5. It was a fun celebration. The day started at church. Altamont Stake was having a special Stake Conference. Elder and Sister Bednar came out. Cam came and attended with us. I didn't take very many notes. I had the thought of if I were to ask Elder and Sister Bednar a non spiritual question, it would be to ask how their grandson is doing. There son Jeff was my Organizational Behavior professor. He often talked about his youngest son who was battling a sickness (I can't remember what it is). What was fun is that Sister Bednar talked about her grandson and said he was doing well. The notes I took from Elder Bednar are 1. Repent Synonym: turn/return to Christ, 2. Representative Agency, and 3. Revelation is not instant.
After church we went back to Mom's for a relaxing afternoon. Carol came over and she and Mary played games. Mandy and Meg took naps, and Mom, Cam, and I just visited.
For dinner and dessert we ate fondue. Cam had not had fondue Gardner Family style. We introduced him to it as a full meal. We had chicken and beef to fry in the fry daddy. We had broccoli, potatoes, and different breads to dip in the Swiss cheese or the cheddar cheese sauces. Dessert consisted of strawberries, apples, bananas, angel food cake, and marshmallows to dip into chocolate or caramel sauces.
In between courses Mandy and I opened our gifts. Everyone was very generous. Thanks everyone for celebrating with us! Thanks Carol for letting me steal a couple of photos.
