When I was in Young Women’s my senior year of high school, we made a time capsule. We were not suppose to open it for 10 years. Well I made it my 10 years, plus 6 months before I opened it (after finding it in my closet at Mom’s).
I remembered putting in the Stinger’s Baseball (now the Bee’s) -‘s the picture of me and Grandpa at my Jr. Prom. I didn’t remember putting in the rest. I’m thinking I put in Pride and Prejudice to represent reading as one of my hobbies (I’ve never actually read it). The Sound Of Music article is from The Basin’s newspaper (The Standard) from my senior year of high school when I portrayed Maria in our high school’s production (the article was given to me by Marian Monsen). I have a picture from Homecoming my senior year with my high school crush, Mitch Hussey (directly to my left), Mikaela Wagner and Rylee Goodrich (to my left), and Rachel Gordon and Lance Walker (to my right). Our friends Savana Miller and Venoy Hatch joined us later. It was a really fun group date!
The other items are a get to know me pamphlet, a list of the Young Women and Young Women Leaders in Altamont 1st Ward at the time, a chocolate bar and a note from Amy, our president (the last 3 items were a complete surprise. Amy put those in after collecting the other items from us).
It made for a fun surprise and trip down memory lane!
