I had the opportunity of serving in Community Outreach Day. It was such a blast. My friend Heidi came with me. This is the little blurb from Y-Serve's Page: Taking place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Community Outreach Day unites both the BYU and local communities in a celebration of giving. The event consists of a free breakfast, a cultural celebration, and the completion of various service projects throughout the area.
This school year, Community Outreach Day will take place on January 15, 2018.
As a one-day event, Community Outreach Day seeks to celebrate King’s legacy of selfless service and provide opportunities to serve God’s children within our community and throughout the world.
On our way up to campus we saw a hot air balloon. Someday I would like to ride one. After the speaker and the amazing Gospel Choir, we went to the Refugee station and tied quilts. I am so glad that we were given this opportunity to help share goodness and give back to the community.
