Utah Grizzly's Hockey Game

I went with AP and Brooke to a Grizzly's hockey game. It was so much fun! I don't understand a lot about hockey, other than getting the puck in the net. I learned there are 6 men on the floor in total, 1 goalie, 2 defense, and 3 offense. The defense and offense help each other out.

A fight did break out at the beginning. It almost looked staged to me. They lost their gloves at one of the rink and skated to the other. Everyone left them and the referees circled around them. Then they started throwing punches and the referees let them for a little bit before breaking it up and putting them in the penalty boxes. No other fights took place, one almost did and it felt more organic to me than the first one.

After the game, we went to get in the car so we could go home. We all forgot where we parked. I normally take a picture of something near where I park, but I didn't this time. We wandered the parking lot for a good while before I finally found the car. We had started walking away from it and I happened to look to the right and saw it. We had a good laugh about it.

Thanks for the invite Brooke and AP and thanks Brooke for driving! It was a great night!

Roses Blooming

The roses bloomed more and I just had to get a photo of them because they are so pretty!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! I spent the day at different buildings, Stonehenge of Ogden and RMC Clearfield. We did training at Stonehenge and then helped with the Valentine's Party at Clearfield. The party turned out so fun and I thought the decorations were so cute. They had chicken salad sandwiches, chips, cookies, and soda for the residents. We also had a chocolate fountain. We had a spot open for dancing.

One of my favorite moments of the day happened with the dancing. They had a resident who was in a wheelchair and I learned doesn't get up too often. I was by her, and at one point, she got a little teary-eyed and asked if I would go dace with her. I said absolutely and she took my arm and got up. She held my hand and we walked over the dance floor and danced. It was awesome to watch!

That evening I was sitting at home watching a movie when there was a knock at my door. I opened the door and Ben Davis was at my door with a yellow rose and bag of goodies. The flower was beautiful and smelled good as well. We chatted for a few minutes before he left to go deliver more roses and goody bags. While outside we noticed another vase with a red rose and a bag with 3 Utah Truffles (dark chocolate sea salt flavor). I don't know how long those had been sitting outside. I didn't hear a knock at my door to get those. It was also a beautiful flower that smelled good. Thanks to the kind stranger and Ben for the gifts. They made me smile.

Library Bookclub: Fight Club

Tonight I went to the Library Bookclub. I wasn't able to stay the whole time. The part of the discussion I was able to listen to was interesting. I had never read this book, and I've never watched the movie. Being real, I don't know if I have the desire to watch the movie after reading the book. I kept thinking to myself that the main guy needed to ditch his friend Tyler and that Tyler was starting a cult. What an unexpected twist it brought. I won't give it away here, but it was wild.

From Amazon:

"The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club.

In his debut novel, Chuck Palahniuk showed himself to be his generation's most visionary satirist. Fight Club's estranged narrator leaves his lackluster job when he comes under the thrall of Tyler Durden, an enigmatic young man who holds secret boxing matches in the basement of bars. The two men fight "as long as they have to." A gloriously original work that exposes what is at the core of our modern world."

Superbowl 2024

Tonight I went to a Superbowl Party. I often watch the Superbowl with family in Green River, but I had to be in Heber the next day by 9 am. I didn't want to travel super late. My friend Alex had a Superbowl party at his house. There were 10 of us all together watching. It was a great time. I sat between Clay and Crystal. Clay is 49ers fan and Crystal is a Chiefs fan. At times I had surround sound of "No!" and "Go!" at the same time. It was rather entertaining. We had a few others that were 49ers and Chiefs fans.
It was a close game. I ended up rooting for the Chiefs. I don't have a strong sense of loyalty to either team. I wasn't going to be heartbroken if they lost. They ended up winning, in overtime in the last 8 seconds. This was my kind of game. I enjoy close games. Even if your team is winning, but they are far ahead, I think it gets boring to watch.
Thanks Alex for hosting and thanks to everyone who came that made for a great night!
