Another Mathis Family Party

The Mathis side of the family likes to party and yesterday we had another party. David John leaves for Alabama today to start his Doctorate Program. We had a party to say farewell and good luck and Happy Birthday to our August Birthdays. We met at the Helper Park. I couldn't remember how to get there. I don't think I've been there since I was in Elementary School. After several side streets I finally made it. We had sandwiches and pizza and melon for dinner. We just chatted and Uncle Wayne was giving away some of David's old items, and if no one claimed them, he gave them to Amy.

As I was taking photos of the kids on the playground, Corinne said to me, "I'm really going to miss David. He's a great guy." I think your right Corrine. David is a great guy and we're all going to miss him.

Aunt Ann had brought a box of some of Grandma's old things. We found a post card that was addressed to Uncle Stan and Aunt Jerilyn. We put a stamp on it and Kara is going to mail it to them. I wish I could be there to see their reaction.

We also had a dog come and join the party. The funniest part was when the dog came up to Anna. She hadn't noticed the dog. It gave her a big lick on the face. The dog was gone before she saw it. I was sitting next to her. She turned to me, thinking I had licked her and said, "Cassy!" Kara, Amy and I just started laughing. Then Anna realized there was a dog and that was what had licked her. So then she started laughing too.

It was great time. Thanks family for some more wonderful memories.

On my drive I saw this beautiful rainbow. Meg is rubbing off on me and at the summit I pulled off the road to capture a picture of it.
