4th of July Weekend

Happy Independence Day and Canada Day. I have actually done quite a bit the last few days, especially since I didn't really have many plans. After work on Saturday, July 1 (Canada Day), I decided to go watch what I could of the Stadium of Fire fireworks. I love fireworks. I love the burst of color and the pictures they create in the sky. I drug my roommate and her two nieces with me. Here are a few pics from the fireworks. Aren't they fun? Imagine what it's like in the stadium!

On July 3rd I hiked up with some girls in my ward to the Y on Y Mountain. This was my first time up there. Boy am I out of shape! It's only about a mile hike but I was dying the whole trip up. It's switch back and uphill the entire way. Once we made it, we decided to stay until sunset. After walking back home we treated ourselves to some creamery ice cream. Yum! Thanks Kelsey and Katie for hiking up with me!

Today, July 4th I went to the parade. I can tell I'm use to small town parades. There was no candy throwing, several floats and marching bands. So of course I had to take some pictures of it all.

Out of all the bands I must say the bagpipes were my favorite.

You can't really see them well, but here are several disney characters that came to Provo for the parade.

Cookie Monster

Only in Utah County do the missionaries walk in the parade.

Angry Birds
