Helena's Birthday

My roommate Helena is having a birthday on Thursday. Today we decided to take her to Build-A-Bear Workshop to celebrate. She has never been there before, and after falling in love with Emma Rose's Toothless from there, we decided to take her as a surprise. We even blindfolded her and everything. Her friend Eve came with us. After, we went to La Carreta's to eat lunch. It's a Peruvian restaurant and it is one of my favorites!

Velour

Emma Rose and I have been trying to go to Velour for almost a year now. It's a local place in town where bands come and perform. Every time we have tried in the past, something happens and one of us can't go. We finally made it. We had 3 performers/groups and all did amazing!

We also went to CupBop because I hadn't been there either. It's Korean food and it was amazing. While we were there they were playing the opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. I like to think we were being festive for the Olympics.

Tien's Wedding

A good friend of Emma Rose and mine was married on Wednesday Jan. 31. We met Tien this past summer when she moved into our ward. She is a non-member but is getting baptized soon. We are so happy for Tien and David. They deserve each other and all the best wishes in the world!

Uncle Wayne and Aunt Dianne's Homecoming

On January 21, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Dianne had their Mission homecoming. They served the past 23 months in Brazil as temple workers. It was fun to see them and catch up on some family time. We also celebrated Jacob's birthday. Happy Birthday Jacob!

Community Outreach Day

I had the opportunity of serving in Community Outreach Day. It was such a blast. My friend Heidi came with me. This is the little blurb from Y-Serve's Page: Taking place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Community Outreach Day unites both the BYU and local communities in a celebration of giving. The event consists of a free breakfast, a cultural celebration, and the completion of various service projects throughout the area.
This school year, Community Outreach Day will take place on January 15, 2018.
As a one-day event, Community Outreach Day seeks to celebrate King’s legacy of selfless service and provide opportunities to serve God’s children within our community and throughout the world.

On our way up to campus we saw a hot air balloon. Someday I would like to ride one. After the speaker and the amazing Gospel Choir, we went to the Refugee station and tied quilts. I am so glad that we were given this opportunity to help share goodness and give back to the community.
