Happy Mother’s Day to the many women who have been apart of my life and being my mother or my other mothers!
It was a busy, but awesome weekend. It started Friday night. I drive up to Burley, ID to attend my cousin Aymslee’s wedding reception. It was fun to visit with everyone. I was able to chat with Kimalee, Murray, and Aymslee in the line and again with Murray at the table (which was pretty funny. As Aymslee and Hayden were cutting their cake, we told Murray it was happening. It wasn’t until they were almost done cutting the cake that he said, “I guess I should turn around and pretend to care about this cake.”). I visited with Rosslyn, Daniel, Cameron, Sam, Richele, Uncle Wayne, Aunt Dianne, Uncle Boyd, Aunt Mary, and Laura. In between keeping the refreshments full, Taylee would come visit with us. At the very end I saw Hadlee and Judson. I learned Judson had been set apart at 5pm that evening as an elder. He received his mission call earlier in the week and is going to Peru.
Aunt Mary, Uncle Boyd, Laura and I ended up staying to the end and helped to send off the newly wed couple. We had sparklers and balloons with lights in them. Aunt Mary was struggling to stand out in the cold. She kept asking why we were doing this. We would tell her things like to wish the new couple well and to see them off. She would answer with, “I don’t care... I’m too cold.” The wind was blowing so the balloons didn’t follow the couple. If we turned around and looked towards the field, it created a fun effect.
Congrats Hayden and Aymslee!
Thanks Judson for posting pictures on Instagram. I failed at taking pictures this weekend!
On Saturday I went on a date with Cam. We met up with his sister Cachelle and her husband Rex. We went to a gaming place in Vernal and played some retro video/arcade games. After that we had a quick dinner at Jimmy John’s before heading to Ann’s (Cam’s younger sister) dance review. It was fun to watch. The company based their performance on a children’s book called “A Blue So Blue”. A narrator read the story and then the students would dance out different parts. I ran into Jennica (Becca Gordon’s sister in-law, also I have no idea how she spells her name) while I was there. We caught up for a few minutes. Great job Ann and Walt and Jennica’a kids. I had a fun time watching your performance! We ended the night at Cam’a parents house. They picked up pizza and we (Michael and Deidra (his parents and I don’t know how to spell their names), Cachelle, Rex, and their son Derrick (not sure how that is spelled), Jeremiah (brother who lives in Provo area with his wife), and Ann. We just chatted for quiet awhile before Cam brought me home. Thanks all for a fun afternoon/evening.
Sunday was Mother’s Day. We went to church in the morning. It was nice to meet in person and see some of the home ward members that I haven’t seen in over a year! I even shared a few comments in Relief Society. After church we came home. I tried to take a nap. Meg came. We (Carol, Mary, me, and Meg later playing for Mary) played Phase 10. We made them dinner consisting of Evil Chicken and corn. For gifts this year we gave them the next round of digitalized home videos and gift cards (Jim Shore for Carol and Allred’s Garden for Mom). Mary wanted to watch the videos so that is how the Gardner Household ended the night.
Thank you to both of you. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you! Through back photo to when I graduated BYU.
