San Rafael River Run

Yesterday, May 26 Meg and I went with our cousin David and his son Asher to kayak the San Rafael river through The Wedge/Little Grand Canyon of Utah. The views are spectacular!

It was more challenging than we thought it was going to be. The river was calm, but it is full of twists and turns. Our kayak was a little too big and there were a few times we scrapped and got suck on the bottom. I would usually hop out and pull the kayak to get us unstuck.  When we got to the Swinging Bridge to pull out, that has been the happiest I have ever been to see it! Meg and I made up our own words to Just Around the River Bend from Pocahontas about seeing the Swinging Bridge.

In total we were on the river for 7 hours. Meg and I forgot to pack a lunch. Shout out to David and Kara. Kara for packing extra food and snacks and David for sharing it with Meg and I. For future times Meg and I need to invest in dry bags and a waterproof lunch box for our kayak.

Thanks Dave and Asher for the sweet adventure!
