I went home the weekend of Mandy's birthday, which is Dec. 8. It turned out to be a pretty eventful weekend.
On Friday I went to the Salt Lake Temple for a Session. After the session I decided to walk through the lights. I even ran into some Altamont friends, Baily and LaDell Brinkerhoff, Janalee Goodrich, and others whose names I cannot think of at this moment (Sorry!). There first question to my was about my coat and why I wasn't wearing one. The answer is I forgot to take my coat in with me to the session. It was a really warm day and the parking garage is heated. I didn't think about it. It was a bit chilly walking around without the sun and the fog.
After the temple I went to the Christkindlmarkt 2019 festival at This is the Place Heritage Park. It was fun to wander through all the vendors. I ran into Jodi from Maple Lake there. Here is what it says on the website: Inspired by the world famous German Christmas markets, Christkindlmarkt SLC offers a unique holiday shopping and cultural experience this season. Tantalizing food and festive holiday entertainment await you as you stroll through wooden vendor booths nestled amid the magical backdrop of This Is The Place Heritage Park. The St. Martin's Lantern Parade will take place the evening of December 5th, to celebrate acts of service throughout the community. Christkindlmarkt SLC … experience the old world charm of Christmas.
On Saturday I enjoyed a day at home. I read a book called Promise Me by Richard Paul Evans. Mom roped me into singing with her in Relief Society. We went to the church to practice singing with Natalie Christensen, Big shout out to her for playing so well and being willing to accompany us at the last minute. That evening I went to Mandy's work party. It was held at the LC Ranch's main lodge. I had a good time. It was fun watching people try to guess Christmas songs from a set of clues and fill out a Christmas quiz. Doug and Sandra came. It's been a long time since I have seen Sandra. It was fun catching up with her.
My white elephant/gift exchange gift
Sunday we went to church and I sang with mom. After church we had our celebration. Mandy choose to eat Stroginoff for dinner and we had cookie dough cheesecake for dessert. We both opened up our presents form the family. I don't have any pictures to show you from dinner or opening gifts. But know it was a good time. Rozy was pretty funny. I'm not sure if it's because the presents smelled like pine or if she really thought she had a gift, but she was very attentive to Mandy opening her presents. It was pretty funny.
I have pictures of what I received for my birthday. For those reading this more for my memory. I also was given some money from Dad and John and Grandma Gardner. Thanks everyone!
Picture online. I didn't take a picture of mine.
I have another bag that is the same pattern put square. It's at work. This picture I got from online because I didn't take a picture of mine.
