Memorial weekend started off a little early for me this year. The Wednesday before I was already in Price tending my cousin's kids for a few days. I was nervous. This was the first time I had done an over night job by myself with school days mixed in and driving with a 3 year old that needed a car seat. But lucky for me my cousins have great kids and we didn't have any issues (sigh of relief). I spent an extra night at their house before going to Orangeville on Saturday to spend some time with my grandma and the Gardner side.
On Sunday Dad and John came down. Rachel and her kids stopped by for a visit as well as Aunt Joyce and Christine. I spent most of the time playing with Kenzlie. Funny things to happen that day that I didn't have my camera out fast enough. Rachel locked her keys in her car and the police had to come and break into her car for her. He have all the kids a badge starting with Christine. The moment was much funnier than it sounds on here.
The second funny happened while we were at the cemetery. Meg insisted Mandy keep her windows rolled down all the way. So sometime while we were decorating the graves the sprinklers came on. And yep they aimed right into Mandy's windows. So for several hours after her car was raining on the inside.
Monday was a big day for the Mathis side. Richelle took charge and decided to have us learn more about our ancestry. So we learned about the Mathis' coming to Price and we even got a tour of the local museum of the Bryner house. After we had lunch at Tim and Richelle's and mom talked to us about Aunt Mae. Of course we stayed for a long time after and just chatted and enjoyed each others company.
We had a pretty good turnout. Kimalee and Murrylee with their kids came down. It was good to see them. I'm honestly not sure when I saw them last and their kids have grown so much! It was a great weekend and again I am so thankful to have the family I have. You all are amazing!
