Letter Boxing

During Easter, on April 11, this year we did a thing called Letter-Boxing. It was introduced to us by my cousin Kate. What I call it is stamp hunting. You can go through out the U.S. and find these boxes with stamps in them. In these boxes there is a stamp and a stamp book. You also have your own stamp and stamp book. Once you find the box, you stamp your stamp in their stamp book, and you stamp the other stamp in your book. Have I confused you yet? I was very confused myself when Kate and Mandy tried to explain this to me. If you want to learn more about it and where the stamps and clues are go to the web site www.letterboxing.org.
Mary and I riding in the car to Thompson Canyon
Meg was our fearless driver
This is my Grandma. She came but stayed in the car.
On the hunt for the 1st box
Looking at a clue........?
Not really our big clue told to look up something about the Indians.
Ethan who had just found the box.
Our 1st stamp had been found.
This is our crew getting ready to stamp
This is what we stamped in the book.
The Monkey Pirate represents the Thayn/Clark crew.
The few on the right our the Gardner Girls' stamps.
Meg's is the M, Mandy's is the Flower on the bottom, Mary's is the flower on the top, and mine is the Sun. We designed these ourselves.

This is Duncan and Ethan. This is an old car left at Sego Canyon. This was were we found our 2nd box.
This is an old store house. Apparently Sego use to be a thriving town.
This was a boarding house for all the miners. It was huge.
This is Liam in the Ice House. It was next to the Store House.
We had finally found the box
This pic is of some of us just exploring the area.
From June 6-15 I went to Idaho with Carol. We stayed with her cousin Ann. Ann is the Relief Society president. She took us to an enrichment. Lo an Behold, What Where They Doing? LETTER-BOXING, on a much smaller scale. We Went to a ladies house and hunted for the boxes in her yard. It was a gigantic yard and house.
More Stamping
More Stamping. The lady holding the lid is Ann Hessing, Carol's cousin.

Looks like y'all had fun. Wish we could have been there. Hope that you're planning a trip to Price next week so we can see you! (That's right, we're coming to UT) I love the pic of Grandma Mathis. She looks happy.

So much fun. Where are you going next? I think you and Meg should go while you are at your Dad's. Check out all the Ogden spots!
