Mothers

Thanks to all the moms who have raised me. I wouldn't be who I am today without any of you.

Music

Well my senior year of choir has come to end. It went out with a bang. On Saturday April 30 I was able to participate at State Music. That is an incredible opportunity for 1A schools. We go up against 4A and 5A. I'm pretty sure we were the only 1A school there. Our African song Bonsa Aba sounded amazing in there auditorium. Pie Jesu, a duet, was performed the best we ever had.
Yesterday, May 2, my choir had another opportunity that most choirs do not get. Jeff and Joan Goodrich took my choir and everything that made it to state and gave us a recording session. Wow, what an experience. I didn't realize how tiring it was. It was fun!
I would like to thank my choir for all the amazing work they have done this year. I would also like to thank Tathan and Elisabeth for all their help in the presidency. Last I would like to thank my second mother, Becca for putting up with us. She has put so much work into our choir.

Divorce

Divorce has been on my mind lately due to some family problems. My heart is breaking for them. Divorce just sucks. I don't care who you are or what you believe, for the kids it's no fun. It essentially can become heck, especially the time before the divorce.
I suppose there is hope. Look at me, I've survived and life has been okay. I shouldn't complain too much. My parents divorce was as my mom puts it "a honey-moon of a divorce".
So for all you married couples out there, please try and keep your happily ever after!

Jeanne Beal

On April 4, 2011 our angel mother, wife and grandmother, Jeanne Pearl McConkie Beal, flew from us to be re-united with her Father in Heaven. We could not be more heart broken, yet are comforted by our knowledge that she was greeted by many loved ones who have passed on before her. Jeanne was born on November 9, 1946 to Lyrad and Ilene McConkie. She grew up in Altamont on the family ranch active in 4-H, Cheerleading, and Pep Club. After graduation from Altamont High School she attended LDS Business College where she received her associate’s degree. Jeanne was employed at Western Electric Company following college. It was during this time in Salt Lake she met her sweetheart of 42 years, a recently returned Vietnam Veteran, Larry Beal. Larry and Jeanne were married in Altamont, May 3, 1969. Two years later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jeanne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She faithfully served in and fulfilled many church callings during her life. Jeanne lived a life of compassion and service to others. One of her best attributes was that of being a friend to both young and old alike. She loved her job as a teaching assistant at the Utah State University’s Altamont High School Extension program. She genuinely cared about each and every student that she mentored throughout the years. Everyone felt her love, even in the smallest of conversations. The brightest light in Jeanne’s life were her grandchildren. She had a wonderful way of loving each one. She was especially looking forward to holding a new grandbaby this coming August. Jeanne is survived by her husband Larry, her children: Cody DeWayne Beal, Salt Lake; Becki Jeanne (Greg) Taylor, Mendon; Megan (Lonny) Reed, Heber; Morgan (Nicole) Beal, Altamont and Elizabeth McConkie, Arcadia. Grandchildren: Matthew McArthur Beal, Kaitlyn Taylor, Shaylen Nora Reed, Brenden Robert Reed, Ashlen Jeanne Reed, McCoy Dee Beal, McCrey Daxton Beal, and one on the way. Brother: Shawn (Beckey) McConkie, Sisters: Susan (Robin) Reynolds, Dixie (Leon) Harding, Shirley Riley. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Altamont LDS Stake Center where a viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful medical personnel at Uintah Basin Medical Center for their services.

I have many wonderful memories of Jeannie. I had her in Y.W. She was always making sure I was doing ok. She was very easy to talk to. In 7th grade she bought me a chocolate pie at the ala-cart. We had an argument about it. I told her she could not play favorites. Obviously I lost. Jeanne was also my teacher in the college classes. She was so fun to talk to in there. She was always trying to get me to take more college classes. I finally told her I wanted to be a high school student first. She always spoke her mind. It didn't matter who was in there. We often joked on setting the school on fire so we could get a new school.

I loved Jeanne and she will be greatly missed. I hope we as people can take the time to become more like her, and become the best we could be.
